Hi! My name is Katelynn Sheehan, owner and operator of Kates House of Hounds.  When I am not working with dogs I enjoy spending time in the flower garden with my son, being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, or volunteering my time as an EMT and fire fighter with the Volga Fire Department.  I have had the honor of working with dogs since 2015.  My journey first got started while managing the Pet Department at Runnings where I quickly found a passion for canine health and nutrition and overall care.  After graduating college I moved and worked at a boarding facility for a year where my grooming and training journey began. In 2018 I branched out on my own and formed Kate's House of Hounds, grooming out of my home. I have been pushing forward ever since and have loved every trial and victory while running the business.  In 2025 I was fortunate enough to grow my business to a space designed specifically for dogs safety and comfort.  A real dream come true!

 

Understanding dog body language and the mechanics behind why they, "do what they do", has been invaluable throughout my growing career.  To gain better understanding of the beloved canine, I continually expand my knowledge base through books, courses and hands on training with my amazing mentor. I hold a Professional Obedience Trainer title, a Certified Canine Behavior and Training Specialist certification and am a Canine Good Citizen evaluator. My knowledge base will forever continue to grow, because when you know better you can do better!
