10) WEAKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM: Owner understands special-needs dogs, young puppies, and senior dogs naturally have a higher risk of injury, stress-related illnesses, weakened immune system, or exacerbation of any pre-existing condition. As such, by using our facility for daycare, boarding, training or grooming the Owner is waiving any claim for injury or illness experienced by Owner’s dog while in our care.

11) ELDERLY DOGS: Owners of elderly dogs (approaching the end of life) need to know if in the event Owner’s dog passes on while in our care, our policy is to transport Owner’s dog to Owner’s vet (within 15 miles) where he/she will be held until Owner can be reached by the Vet for further instructions. If Owner’s vet is closed or outside of our transport distance, then we will transport to nearest 24-hour facility.

12) GROOMING: Expense to be paid by Owner(s) is charged per dog and due at time of pick up. Owner(s) understand that if clear and direct instructions are not given to the Groomer satisfaction cannot be guaranteed. Groomer reserves the right to refuse any dog at any time regardless of the point of time for the grooming. Owner understands that Kates House of Hounds. and any employees are not held responsible for injury to a dog resulting from aggressive tendencies or movements. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If Kates House of Hounds. feels it is serious, and the Owner is not on-site, Kates House of Hounds. will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet. Kates House of Hounds. is not responsible for veterinary bills, fees, etc. Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the animal's Owner upon signing this agreement.
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet's skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations. Kates House of Hounds. will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow. Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time-consuming and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of notification of completion of groom. A daycare rate is to be applied if Owner does not pick up within allotted times.
Kates House of Hounds. has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Kates House of Hounds. has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee.

13) TRAINING: Satisfaction cannot be 100% guaranteed. Owner understands that they need to follow Kates House of Hounds. rules and instructions. We have the right to refuse any dog at any time regardless of the time of training. Owner will be reimbursed for the days that were not completed under Kates House of Hounds. and employee’s discretion. Owner agrees if they have a multiple-day lapse in attendance the training contract is voided and there will be no reimbursement.

14) PAYMENTS: Are due and payable at the end of each visit. Payment may be made in American currency, Visa, Discover, or Master Card. Credit card fees may be applicable. $25 NSF charge for returned checks.

15) CANCELLATION / NO-SHOW POLICY: Cancellations must be done 48-hours prior to reservation date. If cancellation notice is less than 48 hours an amount of two nights stay will be invoiced.

16) CLOSING TIME: Owner agrees that if Owner’s dog(s) is/are not picked up by closing time of 6:00 p.m. then Owner hereby authorizes overnight boarding appropriate for dog(s) and to pay Kates House of Hounds. for applicable overnight boarding charge plus any charge for required food.

17) RIGHT OF REFUSAL: Kates House of Hounds. reserves the right to refuse admittance to any dog or dismiss any dog that does not meet or maintain the health, temperament or other daycare/boarding standards. The determination shall be made at the sole discretion of Kates House of Hounds.

18) FULL FORCE AND EFFECT: Owner further understands and expressly agrees that each and every of the foregoing provisions contained in paragraphs 1-18 shall be in force and effect and shall apply to each and every occasion on which Owner’s dog(s) stays with Kates House of Hounds. for daycare, boarding, grooming, training, or other services, as the case may be. This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect as between the parties until and unless otherwise canceled or superseded by a writing signed by the parties.
Owner hereby certifies that Owner has read and understands this Waiver and Release of Liability and the regulations set forth above.
